Have you ever thought about making a difference on campus? Now’s your chance! The SUO General Elections are coming up, and running for a position is easier than you might think. Here’s a simple guide to get you started:
Step 1: Grab Your Nomination Package
Once nominations open on February 3, visit the SUO office to pick up your nomination package. This packet has everything you need to get started.
Step 2: Collect 15 Student Signatures
To be eligible, you need to gather 15 signatures from fellow UBCO students who support your nomination. That’s it! You don’t need to be a straight-A student—just in good academic standing.
Step 3: Submit Your Package
After completing your nomination package, drop it off at the SUO front desk before the submission deadline on February 14 at 4 PM. Don’t wait until the last minute!
Step 4: Start Campaigning
Once nominations close, it’s your time to shine! You’ll have a week to campaign online, on social media, and in person. Share your platform, engage with students, and explain why you’re the right person for the role.
Step 5: Voting Begins
After campaigning wraps up, the voting period starts. This is when students cast their votes to decide who will represent them.
Stay Informed
Keep an eye on SUO’s social media channels for important dates and deadlines, including when nominations open and close.
Ready to Lead? This is your chance to make a meaningful impact on campus. Take the first step and get involved—UBCO students are counting on passionate leaders like you!
